Turismo da Gorongosa
Turismo da Gorongosa is a mission-driven private entity whose sole purpose is to support the conservation and sustainable human development of the Greater Gorongosa Landscape. In 2025, the company was awarded the tender to develop tourism across Gorongosa National Park for a renewable period of 20 years, based on its demonstrable commitment to the long-term future of the Park and recognized tourism track record. Turismo da Gorongosa pays annual concession fees to the Gorongosa Project and, in addition, has committed 10% of its gross revenues above a fixed threshold. The business employs more than 70 Mozambicans, already runs multiple camps—Muzimu Lodge, Chicari Camp and Mount Gorongosa Community Camp— and has bold plans for growth.
Muzimu Lodge
Nestled along the serene banks of the Mussicadzi River, Muzimu Lodge offers an intimate safari retreat with six spacious East African-style tents. Each tent features an en-suite bathroom and a private deck. Guests unwind by the pool, enjoy gourmet meals crafted from local ingredients, and engage in guided wildlife encounters, all while supporting the park’s conservation efforts.

Chicari Camp
This seasonal, eco-friendly camp is situated around the wildlife-rich Chicari Pan. Ten thoughtfully designed canvas tents, including two unique tree-hide tents, offer en-suite bathrooms and panoramic views. Expertly guided wildlife drives, walking safaris, and seasonal boating excursions allow guests to immerse themselves in the untamed beauty of Gorongosa.

Mount Gorongosa Community Camp
This exclusive, community-led fly camp experience connects guests with the mountain’s vibrant biodiversity while directly supporting local communities. Available from June to November, this private-use camp offers guided hikes to Murombodzi Falls, tours of the Gorongosa Project’s coffee initiative, and opportunities to observe rare bird species.
