Produtos da Gorongosa
Produtos is a for-profit company registered in Mozambique, working with communities surrounding Gorongosa National Park to increase household incomes, ease pressure on the environment, and help local people thrive.
Our one-hectare agriculture hub in Cheringoma provides farmers with access to training, tools, and buyers. We help growers reach markets and support dry-season farming with solar-powered irrigation pumps, provide seeds and fertilizer. Through our out-grower program, 13.5 tons of fruits and vegetables reach local markets each year—boosting food security and strengthening the local economy. Together, these steps build strong value chains around high-value crops like coffee, cashew, honey, chili, and cassava.
Gorongosa Coffee is our flagship crop. We work with 997 farmers to produce up to 40 tons of green beans annually. With 275 hectares under cultivation and a modern roasting facility processing 346,000 kg of cherry, Gorongosa Coffee is one of just six brands certified for export. Our facility in Vila Gorongosa will support Arabica production for the next decade. Our long term goal includes building a second facility to process Robusta coffee in a separate location to preserve cultivar integrity.

Cashew is growing fast. We’ve planted 200 new hectares, launched a nursery with 310,000 seedlings, and distributed 46,000 to farmers. A 15-hectare seed production zone is underway, expected to yield 1.5 tons of seed by 2025.

Our honey factory in Vila Gorongosa can process 12,000 kg a day—up to 100 tons a year. It supports sustainable harvesting, raises incomes, and protects farms with “beehive fences” that deter elephants.

Chili farming is heating up, and we expect Gorongosa to become Mozambique’s top source for African Piri-Piri sauce.

We’re expanding what we know, what we grow and how we grow it. In addition to our current crops—coffee, honey, chili, cashew and cassava—we’re introducing resilient, high-value crops adapted to local conditions: pineapple, stevia, pigeon peas, peanuts, sesame, soy, maize, and mustard. These crops bring nutrition, income, and new export opportunities to farming families across the region.
