About Gorongosa Ventures

Mozambique has abundant natural resources and magnificent landscapes.  The nation is almost twice the size of California, with tremendous amounts of productive farmland, carbon-rich forests, and landscapes (national parks and beaches) that enable world-class ecotourism businesses.

Gorongosa Ventures is a Boise, Idaho based company that owns majority control of for-profit, for-impact businesses in Mozambique in agriculture, tourism, and aviation. These businesses create employment, career, and investment opportunities for Mozambicans, as well as Americans. 

For Gorongosa Ventures, social and environmental investments are not a “nice-to-have”— they are a fundamental part of our business model.  

That is why each portfolio company invests a percentage of gross revenue directly to these programs. In addition, 100% of profits from Gorongosa Ventures companies are invested in social and environmental programs through donations to The Gorongosa Restoration Project.
